Army Bureau of Current Affairs : WAR and CURRENT AFFAIRS

'War' was a fortnightly pamphlet distributed to officers of the British Army from September 1941, to keep them abreast of military matters, the state of the war in other theatres and reports of actions. 'Current Affairs' was issued fortnightly in the alternate weeks and also provided information but more on the background to military matters. The pamphlets formed the basis for officers to lecture to or talk informally with their command, to help explain why they were fighting and to explain the customs and conditions in the countries where they might be asked to serve.
