Terms of sale

All books are offered subject to availability. They are offered simultaneously on several websites and there is a slight delay between sale on one and deletion on another.

Shipping: postage and packing is charged extra at cost. We will ship by:

UK - the cheapest method, usually 2nd class up to 1kg or Standard Parcels if heavier
Europe - by Airmail (is almost the same cost as Surface mail and much quicker)
Rest of the world - by Surface mail

...in each case, unless you specify otherwise in your order.

Consolidation: In the case of orders for multiple books we will ship as one parcel where weight limits and size limits allow.

Payment is due with order and may be made by any of the credit/debit cards listed on the secure server (Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Switch*, Solo*, Maestro*).

If paying with Switch, Solo and Maestro we need the start date and/or the issue number of the card in addition. If there is nowhere obvious to leave this information please state the details in the field for customer messages.

If you prefer not to use the secure server you may also send us the card details separately (click for details) but please make sure that you order the book via the order form so that we can reserve it for you.

We also accept payment by cheque (in UK Pounds drawn on a UK bank only) or, only for purchases greater than £100.00, by electronic bank transfer. If intending payment by either of these methods please let us know so that we can reserve the book(s) and let you know the further details that you will need.

Packing: All books are packed in purpose made book boxes or, for large multiple orders, in double wall cardboard boxes and are insured in transit. We do not use Jiffy/Bubble bags alone unless it is a cheap book where the condition is so poor that any further damage would not be noticeable.

Returns: We are careful in our descriptions but mistakes sometimes happen and a book which we have mis-described may be returned within seven days of receipt for a full refund including your return postage. Return for any other reason may be made within the same period for a refund of the purchase price less the cost of shipping. In both cases return is subject to prior notification stating the reason and the refund is subject to the book reaching us in the same condition as it was sent.

Sending credit/debit card details direct

You can leave your credit card details on a secure server at Ammonet or UKBookWorld or, if you prefer not to use the secure server, an order and/or card details can be telephoned, faxed, mailed or emailed (in the case of sending card details by this latter method it is recommended that for your security the details are split across two separate emails) - Contact details

The total details we need for a card transaction are:

• 1. Your name and address
• 2. Name and address for shipping (if different)
• 3. Choice of shipping method Required for all cards:
• 4. Cardholder name (exactly as on card)
• 5. Cardholder address (if different from 1 and/or 2)
• 6. Card type
• 7. Card numbers
• 8. Card expiry date
• 9. Card ID (the 3 digit CVC/CVV2 Code)

Also required for Delta, Solo and Switch/Maestro cards

• 10. Card start date and/or issue number

Trade

Reciprocal 10% terms are offered for trade sales (we will need to know where to view your stock) except for sales by drop shipping, which are net.

We do not operate an affiliate scheme. We actively discourage drop shipping.

We prefer to ship direct to book searchers/traders so that they can see that we have described the book fairly before they then ship to their customer. We reserve the right to refuse to supply on a drop shipping basis without notice or explanation at any time.

Also bear in mind that we put a value for customs purposes on the exterior of international parcels.
